This is a Doric temple surrounded by a colonnade. It dates from the end of the sixth century, and
so is almost contemporary with the first of the two temples of Hera, and is remarkably similar in its structure and in the form of its \b \cf1 \ATXht3 columns\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 . This temple has the unusual feature of a \b \cf1 \ATXht16 pediment\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 made up solely of slanting cornices, with the horizontal one completely missing. The slanting cornices jut out strongly and have a decoration of lacunars. The eaves, now in the local museum, have lion heads alternating with palmettes and lotus flow
ers in relief. The frieze, finally, is decorated with ovuli and continuous wave moldings. The temple has a very simple plan with a rectangular naos preceded by a vestibule that had eight Ionic columns.\par
